Free eviction help

The Fylde Coast Advice and Legal Centre are contracted by the Legal Aid Agency to provide services under the Housing Loss Prevention and Advice Service (HLPA) in relation to early advice. This service is funded by central government and if you qualify then the services are not means tested so the service is free of charge to YOU!

To be able to use this service you must be facing possible eviction and this not only covers rented property/accommodation but others which we give you the general areas:

  • A letter or notice from a landlord ( which may include a family member where there is just a permission to occupy your home
  • A notice from your landlord. This can include a notice to quit, a notice to seek possession either where grounds are specified or a no fault eviction notice ()known as a section 21)
  • Any letter sent by your landlord giving any other form of notice
  • Notice seeking possession from your landlord for whatever reason
  • Letter from the court telling you that possession proceedings have been issued against you whatever this may such as rented on a mortgage or secure loan.

To be able to access this service you will need to have a written/typed/printed copy of one of the documents listed above.

Fylde Coast Advice & Legal Centre will be able to advise you on your rights, whether a notice given to you is invalid and what the next steps are needed. We have highly experienced housing legal advisers to deal with this for you.

Provided you have a notice or proceedings for possession, the scheme can cover advice and assistance in relation to both debt and welfare benefit issues and we can undertake checks on these.
