Campaign Work

One aspect Of the centre's work is in relation to campaigning. This relates to firstly social policy issues. We do take our social policy role very seriously and this allows us and other organisations that we are members of to raise issues that arise with policymakers and legislators (people who make the law) so as to cause change to be made as a result of evidence from the work that we undertake.

Secondly is a more proactive campaigning type of work. We believe that access to justice for people in receipt of benefits, on low incomes and other disadvantaged groups should be available for all. We therefore campaign for this and bringing back into scope all the social welfare law areas that were taken away by the coalition government and subsequently continued by this government.

We do intend in the near future to launch specific campaigns with regard to sanctioning and obtaining evidence of its impact locally and also on housing generally within the file coast area.

We anticipate that this will be undertaken by providing the public with knowledge, leaflets, and also socio-legal academic research into these areas and prepare reports of the impact locally
